Loving You

loving you is a hard thing to do…

to keep you free

to let you go

to not be attached

to not be consumed

but to love,

to love the way I feel when you laugh,

to feel the way my heart beats when you walk

….even walking away…

the words you say well up in my waiting,

and lodge in my throat,

and when you say “good-bye”,

my lips will simply say “okay”…

Karen!! I was just reading some of your older poems today. This one is painfully beautiful. I admire the way your words flow …so amazingly… from your heart into the reader’s heart.

      Hi Noora,
🙂 I’m so glad to hear from you! You know I love your work as well. Some poetry takes work. Writing and re-writing. And others just come out. 🙂 no pun intended. I’m going to e-mail you later 🙂

Oh, I know what you are talking about. lol. My writing process is usually very, very slow. I’ve been trying to write today but I just don’t feel it. I need to give it some time. I always look forward to hearing from you. 🙂
